We appreciate that treating patients with eating disorders can be very difficult in some cases.  These patients, more often than not, require specialist services with skilled experienced staff.  However, there is a high non-attendance / disengagement rate within eating Disorders and therefore many of these patients require ongoing monitoring and treatment in a primary care setting.

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Eating Disorder Service covers a wide area of the North West, with community clinics in Macclesfield, Chester, Wirral, Bolton, Trafford, Warrington and Halton.  We have a 14 bedded inpatient unit in Clatterbridge, which admits patients from these areas, as well as North Wales, Liverpool, St Helen’s and Knowsley, and some parts of Manchester.

If you wish to discuss anything with us, please refer to the ‘How to Find Us’ section.

This area is designed to give you a brief overview of managing patients with eating disorders in a primary care setting.
